Peterson is the top-rated shooting guard in his class and recently transferred to basketball powerhouse Huntington Prep to develop his game further. Despite listing eight college finalists, Tipton notes that Peterson is also considering the professional route.
Wherever he ends up going, seeing Indiana on this list is a good sign for Mike Woodson’s future recruiting efforts. Not only is Peterson a top five player nationally, but he plays a position of need for Indiana, who hasn’t had an elite shooting guard in a few seasons.
It’s worth noting that his physical profile appears consistent with what Mike Woodson likes in guards. He’s 6’5” and comfortable handling the ball like a point guard, much like Jalen Hood-Schifino.
Tipton also notes that Peterson is an adidas athlete already, only Kansas and Indiana are adidas schools among that group of eight. Whether that makes a difference here or not, it’s good to see Indiana’s apparel deal could hold weight.
