Indiana is set to open Big Ten play on the road Wednesday evening against Nebraska in Lincoln.
The Hoosiers have won their first two league games, one of which being an away matchup with Michigan, but can’t be caught unaware. This isn’t the usual Nebraska team or, frankly, Indiana unit we’ve seen for the past two years.

Indiana (11-3, 2-0 Big Ten) is coming off of a career night for Malik Reneau, who scored 34 points against Kennesaw State. The Hoosiers were without Xavier Johnson (foot) and Kel’el Ware (illness) during the game, and it remains to be seen if either will be available.
Gabe Cupps and Payton Sparks stepped up as starters, with the latter performing admirably in Ware’s absence against the Owls. The Hoosiers have struggled shooting the ball from deep but have seen progress lately from Big Ten Freshman of the Week Mackenzie Mgbako.
Nebraska (11-2, 1-1) Has multiple starters averaging over 13 points per game with Keisei Tominaga not far behind with 12.7. Tominaga is dangerous from behind the arc and will need constant attention if the Hoosiers hope to win.
The Cornhuskers have been without Rienk Mast, who underwent minor surgery on his left knee, for multiple games. He’s expected to be a game-time decision, per Fred Hoiberg.
- Mike Woodson and Fred Hoiberg are two of the three Big Ten coaches to have played and coached in the NBA.
- Trayce Jackson-Davis recorded the third triple-double in Indiana program history against Nebraska last season.
