Bob Bostad will remain in Bloomington as the offensive line coach on Curt Cignetti’s staff, according to reporting from multiple outlets including the Indianapolis Star. ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg had the report first.
Bit more #iufb staffing news: Offensive line coach Bob Bostad is expected to return as part of Curt Cignetti’s staff. Not sure how many more holdovers there will be but that’s a pretty smart one.— Zach Osterman (@ZachOsterman) December 2, 2023
Bostad was hired last offseason to replace the widely panned Darren Hiller. Indiana’s offensive line improved across the board in 2023 with a breakout from redshirt freshman Carter Smith.
With all five starters in the portal, some continuity in the position room could help sway some of them to remain in town. A few are already receiving offers and taking visits to other campuses.
Cignetti is working quickly to establish his staff in Bloomington with multiple coaches from James Madison expected to follow him to Indiana. Other than Bostad, there aren’t many holdovers expected from Tom Allen’s final staff in Bloomington.
Anthony Tucker, the Hoosiers’ wide receivers coach last year, has already accepted a job at Mississippi State. Mike Shanahan coached that position alongside his duties as offensive coordinator at JMU.
