A week and a half after Indiana announced his departure from the program, former Hoosier Jerome Hunter has landed on his next stop.

Hunter announced Sunday that he will transfer to Xavier.

In two seasons on the court at IU — he took a medical redshirt as a freshman while recovering from a leg injury — Hunter averaged 4.9 points and 2.5 rebounds while averaging 16.7 minutes per game in the 55 contests in which he appeared. He started the final four games of the 2020-21 season, averaging 6.3 points and shooting 34 percent from beyond the arc for the year.

Hunter is the fourth player to leave IU since former coach Archie Miller’s ouster in mid-March, following guards Armaan Franklin (Virginia) and Al Durham (Providence), and forward Joey Brunk (Ohio State). Indiana filled Hunter’s scholarship last week by adding former South Florida forward Michael Durr.

In Bart Torvik’s 2021-22 preseason projections, Xavier is rated as the No. 13 team heading into next season.
