First it was Deland. Then it was Daeh. And then it was Deland II.
Now it’s Dasan who is making a pact with Indiana University.
A day after his older brother announced his transfer from Miami (Ohio) to IU, four-star athlete Dasan McCullough announced Sunday that he is flipping his commitment from Ohio State to Indiana and joining the rest of his family at Memorial Stadium.
For Indiana, this is big, big news.
In the 247 Sports Composite rankings, Dasan McCullough is considered the top rising senior in the state of Indiana, the No. 6 athlete in the nation and the No. 50 overall player in the 2022 class. Not only did Ohio State make a priority of McCullough, who projected as a linebacker for the Buckeyes, but Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Notre Dame, Oklahoma and several other major programs also extended scholarship offers to the 6-foot-5, 220-pound prospect.
Now, thanks to some in-house connections, McCullough is a Hoosier.

This fall, Dasan and Daeh will play together for Bloomington South. Then, when Dasan moves on to IU after his senior season, he’ll join his brother Deland II on 17th street.
Here’s the 247 Sports scouting report on Dasan McCullough from analyst Gabe Brooks:
Exceptional height with plus length. Lean build with tons of space to add mass. Experience at numerous positions, including receiver, edge, off-ball linebacker, cornerback, and safety. Started out looking like a big safety but high frame potential likely leads to long-term defensive edge projection. Varied positional experience aids in ball skills and impact playmaking ability. Disruptive at the catch point thanks to length and awareness. Redirects fairly well relative to long-levered build. Good downhill juice vs. the run and strong enough to provide the big hit as a tackler. Not afraid to attack gaps and play in the box from safety. Has flashed some traffic-shedding ability vs. the run against high school competition, but will need to add bulk and strengthen to consistently do that in college. If playing from the edge, that strength will particularly be needed, as well as developing a pass-rush move set. Concerns exist over position projection, but that may be reading into it too much. Given physical tools and multi-positional experience, potential should be quite high. Unique athlete with strong on-field profile. Projects to the high-major level with a ceiling in the top half of the NFL Draft.
Rivals considers McCullough a four-star prospect, the No. 34 overall recruit in 2022, the No. 4 outside linebacker in the nation and the second-best player in the state of Indiana. He is IU’s second commit for 2022, joining three-star Arkansas linebacker Kaiden Turner.
