Joey Brunk is leaving Indiana. But he’s not leaving the Big Ten.
Four days after announcing he would not return to IU under new head coach Mike Woodson, Brunk tweeted Saturday that he plans to transfer to Ohio State for his final season of eligibility. In Columbus, Brunk will reunite with Chris Holtmann, his former coach at Butler.

A Southport High School product, Brunk spent one season under Holtman before the former Bulldogs coach took the Ohio State job during the summer of 2017. Brunk joined IU as a graduate transfer in 2019 and averaged 6.8 points and 5.2 rebounds while starting 31 of the 32 games he played during the 2019-20 campaign.
But a back injury kept him off the court this past season, and Brunk underwent surgery in December. For his career, Brunk is averaging 6.1 points and 3.5 rebounds across 125 games between the Big East and Big Ten.
