A good day for Archie Miller got better at halftime of Sunday’s Super Bowl.
That’s when Lawrence North wing C.J. Gunn announced his commitment to Indiana, giving the Hoosiers a player ranked No. 107 nationally in the 2022 class, per the 247 Sports Composite. Gunn chose IU over offers from Kansas State, Cincinnati, Xavier and Missouri, among others.
The 6-foot-5 Indianapolis product is the first high school prospect to commit to IU since 2021 forward Logan Duncomb made his decision on April 7, 2020, ending a 10-month drought for Miller and his staff. Gunn is considered a four-star prospect, the No. 14 shooting guard and the No. 4 player in the state of Indiana in the 247 Sports Composite database.
Here’s the 247 Sports scouting report on the newest Hoosier:
Has solid size and smooth athleticism as a 6-5 shooting guard. Strong leaper off two feet which pays off on his pull up jumper and his rebounding. Prefers to go right and is primarily a straight line driver. Is a good three-point shooter. Average ball handler and passer. Is a conscientious defender.
And here’s Gunn’s commitment video, in case you missed it:
