This time, it was Remy Abell for the win.
The former Indiana guard sank the walk-off shot in Tuesday’s Round of 16 at The Basketball Tournament, lifting No. 22 Sideline Cancer to a 76-66 victory over No. 6 Challenge ALS. Abell and former IU teammate Mo Creek combined to score the team’s final 10 points of the game, per the Bloomington Herald-Times, propelling Sideline Cancer into a quarterfinals matchup Saturday against No. 3 seed Boeheim’s Army, a team made up of former Syracuse players.
Abell finished with a team-high 17 points, while Creek added 13 points, five rebounds and two assists. With Sideline Cancer needing only a single point in the Elam Ending scenario, Abell took a kick out from teammate Marcus Keene — the hero of Sunday’s Sideline Cancer victory — and buried a 3-pointer to send the team to the next round.
