Justin Smith knows where he’ll be playing next season.
The former Hoosier announced Monday that he’s headed to Arkansas as a graduate transfer, using his final year of eligibility in the SEC. Smith is plenty familiar with the Razorbacks — and vice versa — given that IU and Arkansas met three times in a span of 13 months across Smith’s sophomore and junior seasons.

In three years at Indiana, Smith earned praise for his defensive abilities. Last season, he led Indiana in minutes played (971) and steals (31), while averaging 10.4 points and 5.2 rebounds per game.
After graduating from IU’s Kelley School of Business last month, Smith announced that he would seek a transfer. He originally committed to Indiana during the fall of 2016, while the program was still guided by former coach Tom Crean.
