#TopTendiana is for real.
With the release of the latest Associated Press top 25 on Sunday, the Hoosiers are ranked No. 10 in both polls this week. It’s the first time since Sept. 22, 1969 that IU has cracked the top 10 in the AP rankings, one more notable achievement in a season full of them.
It’s a jump of three sports for Indiana, which is now the second-best team in the Big Ten, in terms of poll placement. Ohio State is No. 3, Wisconsin is No. 13 and Northwestern is No. 23. Sunday’s movement advances the remarkable turnaround for Indiana’s program, which broke into the top 25 for the first time in 25 years only a year ago.
Indiana has won four consecutive Big Ten games and eight of its last 10, marking the most successful stretch of conference play since the Hoosiers won nine of 11 across the 1987 and 1988 seasons.
