We still don’t know how Indiana’s 2020-21 basketball schedule will look after all of the virus-related adjustments are complete. But we are beginning to gain a clearer picture of the milestone events that won’t be on the docket for the Hoosiers this season.

First, the Maui trip was nixed and rerouted to Asheville, N.C.

Now, it appears the Gavitt Games are off, too.

According to college basketball analyst Jon Rothstein, the annual Big Ten-Big East showdown is unlikely to happen this fall. Rothstein reports that both leagues are looking to resume the event during the 2021-22 season.

It’s still possible that some regional Big Ten vs. Big East games could be scheduled, according to Adam Zagoria, but the Gavitt Games event as we know it seems to be headed for a pause.
