Brown was ranked the third-best prospect in the state of Wisconsin by 247 Sports. In his three seasons as a starter at St. Catherine’s HS (Racine, WI) he racked for 4,489 yards and 64 touchdowns through the air and ran for 3,749 yards and 55 TDs. Despite being a quarterback in high school, all signs point to him being a wide receiver in Bloomington, one such sign being that his primary recruiter was receivers coach Grant Heard.
Brown chose the Hoosiers over offers from Wisconsin, Iowa, and Syracuse. His recruitment came to a head not too long ago, as he declared his commitment to IU on December 3, just one day before he had an in-home visit with Heard and head coach Tom Allen.

This all comes after Brown nearly quit football a few years ago. Judging based his senior year highlight tape it looks like he was the biggest, strongest, fastest player on the field pretty much all the time. Everything looks fluid and effortless whether it’s a long touchdown run, a deep pass on the run, or even a tackle.
