For the 2nd consecutive game, Indiana has a Big Ten player of the week, as running back Morgan Ellison and return man J-Shun Harris were both rewarded by the league after their strong performances against Georgia Southern last Saturday.
After Indiana’s rushing attack lacked explosiveness in the Hoosiers’ first 2 games of the season, freshman Morgan Ellison had a breakout performance against the Eagles on Saturday. Ellison became only the 11th Indiana freshman in school history to rush for over 100 yards in a game as he tallied 186 rushing yards on 25 carries with 2 touchdowns to earn the Big Ten Freshman of the week honor.

J-Shun Harris also had another standout day for the Hoosiers. Harris was named the Big Ten’s Special Teams player of the week after returning a punt 70 yards for a touchdown against Georgia Southern last weekend. Harris has now been named Big Ten Special Teams player of the week in back to back weeks as Harris earned the same honor after week 3 when he had a 44 yard punt return touchdown to seal Indiana’s win over Virginia.
