At long last, the dream is real. College Gameday is coming to Bloomington, Indiana.

ESPN’s famed college football pregame show will come to Bloomington for a special Thursday night edition of the show ahead of the season-opening Ohio State game on August 31. Rece Davis cryptically spilled the beans that the broadcast was in the works on The Bob Valvano Show on ESPN 680 in Louisville on Thursday afternoon.

If you’ve followed this blog for any period of time, this a College Gameday trip to Bloomington is years in the making. After Indiana’s 4-0 start to the 2015 season, you might recall a little bit of our creation of something of an internet ruckus. Though we deliver news and analysis, we’re Indiana football fans perhaps more than anything else here -- and our stupid internet joke picked up enough steam to make ESPN publicly weigh the idea of coming to Bloomington. Two years later, I guess it worked. Neat!

Indiana Athletics could not confirm or comment on any plans. We’ve reached out to ESPN for comment and confirmation.

We’ll update this post with the audio momentarily and with ESPN’s comment when and if the network confirms.
