Archie Miller’s first recruiting class added another member Saturday as Robert Phinisee committed to the Hoosiers. Phinisee, a four-star point guard from McCutcheon High School in Lafayette, joins fellow four-stars Jerome Hunter and Damezi Anderson as Hoosier commits in the class of 2018.

Phinisee started at point guard for McCutcheon the last two seasons, averaging 20.4 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 6.5 assists per game. 247 Sports has Phinisee ranked as the 100th best player in the country and the 4th best player in Indiana. With this commitment, the Hoosiers will have two of the top four players in Indiana coming to Assembly Hall, and top-ranked Romeo Langford is still on Archie Miller’s radar.

Phinisee’s commitment also gives the Hoosiers the fourth best recruiting class in the nation, trailing only Arizona, USC, and Michigan State. His decision hands Archie Miller the point guard he was after and might help Indiana’s pursuit of Romeo Langford, as he could be swayed towards Bloomington to join a recruiting class that already has plenty of talent.
