The series will start in Tucson in the 2019-20 season before Arizona travels to Bloomington in 2020-21. The Hoosiers and Wildcats round out the 3 game set with a meeting in New York City’s Madison Square Garden during the 2021-22 campaign.
The series will pit new Hoosier Head Coach Archie Miller against his brother Sean. Archie served as an assistant to Sean at Arizona from 2009 until 2001 before taking the head coaching job at Dayton. Archie and Sean have never faced off against each other as head college coaches, as they never scheduled each other when Archie was with the Flyers.
The Arizona series fills a big hole in Indiana’s non-conference schedule and will help fulfill Archie Miller’s need to improve IU’s pre Big Ten schedule on a yearly basis.
This is the second big step Miller and the Hoosiers have taken to improve Indiana’s preseason slate, with the first being the incentive in Miller’s contract that gives him a bonus for every season that IU plays less that two 300+ rated teams in the non-conference.
