In the midst of the NFL Free Agency news on Thursday, Yahoo’s Shams Charania reported that the Houston Rockets would be signing Troy Williams to a 10-day contract.
The Houston Rockets plan to sign guard Troy Williams of D-League Iowa to a 10-day contract, league sources tell @TheVertical.

Williams had a solid start to the season with the Memphis Grizzlies, who were decimated by injuries early on.
However, as the Griz reached full health, Williams’ playing time declined and so did his effectiveness.
In the D-League this season, Williams is averaging 12.8 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.1 assists on 31.5 percent three-point shooting. Williams has had strong showings in recent weeks, pouring in 32 points and five threes in an early-February game.
The Rockets provide an intriguing opportunity for Williams. Their up-tempo offense would, in theory, suit Williams well. Former Hoosier Eric Gordon has experience a rebirth with the Rockets this season under Mike D’Antoni.
Williams can sign two-consecutive 10-day contracts with the Rockets before Houston must sign him to a contract or move on.
