Earlier this week, we laid out the scenarios for Indiana to get back onto the at-large bubble. It’s still a bit of a longshot for the Hoosiers to still earn a bid without winning the Big Ten Tournament, but it seems the idea Indiana could still sneak into the field with 11 conference losses is picking up steam.
In today’s ESPN Bracketology update, Indiana moves into the “Next Four Out” category ahead of Selection Sunday after Georgia Tech’s unexpected loss to Pitt last night in the opening round of the ACC Tournament. That’s still a decent way to go to get a bid, but there’s reason to believe the Hoosiers are still in the NCAA Tournament conversation.
It’s possible they could make up ground quicker than other teams, too. Of the 12 teams on the bubble (Last Four In, First Four Out, Next Four Out), only Iowa and Indiana have the lone already-scheduled game set up during Championship Week. The winner of that matchup will stay alive, the loser will likely stay at home for the NIT.
Here’s the full list of Lunardi’s Bubble teams.
Last Four In
