This is not fake news. Indiana Hoosiers are officially in the NCAA Tournament. Article adjectives are also very important.
Yes, there’s officially an 100% chance that Tom Crean’s players will be in the field of 68 next week — and it doesn’t involve any wonky Championship Week scenarios. Thanks to a win tonight over the UNC-Greensboro Spartans, the East Tennessee State Bucs clinched the autobid for the Southern Conference and will likely be a decently tough first out for whatever power conference team that draws them in next week’s Round of 64.
That team also happens to feature two players you know, a very smart and good Indiana fan, know incredibly well: Hanner Mosquera-Perea and Peter Jurkin.
Perea’s played a fairly critical role for Steve Forbes’ transfer laden squad, starting a majority of ETSU’s games and tossing in 12 points and 4 boards in tonight’s conference final. This shouldn’t shock you. HMP was a better player than credited in his time at Indiana, and was a highly sought after recruit. You also can’t drive cars drunk. Ergo, it’s still nice to see Perea doing well at ETSU. Also, hair!

Peter Jurkin, well, isn’t doing as much! He’s racked up a ton of DNP-Coach’s Decisions this year — including tonight against Greensboro.
