Indiana’s Alex Krupa named Big Ten Player of the Week

After an impressive week that included a five game winning streak, senior outfielder Alex Krupa was named the Big Ten Player of the Week.

Indiana Baseball is starting to hit its stride, as the Hoosier offense scored 29 runs in their last four games. One of the biggest contributors to this offensive surge has been senior Alex Krupa.

Over the last week, Krupa is hitting .533 from the plate with three extra-base hits, three RBIs, three multi-hit games, and five runs.

Krupa is a senior that transferred to Indiana from Iowa Western Community College before his junior year. At Iowa Western, Krupa won the Junior College World Series Championship in 2014 and was the MVP of the Junior College World Series.

Last season for Indiana, Krupa hit .281 from the plate with 10 RBIs. This year, Krupa has already seen great improvement. Krupa is hitting .356, with six RBIs and two home runs on the season.
