At the press conference at Indiana fired Tom Crean on Thursday, Indiana’s Vice President and Director of Athletics Fred Glass said that he had not ruled out using a search firm. Today, it seems as though he has decided to move forward with the help of one.
Parker Executive Search is based in Atlanta, Georgia. Previously, they have assisted universities, franchises, and organizations such as North Carolina State, the Tennessee Titans, Notre Dame, and the United States Olympic Committee in hiring coaches and administrators. This won’t be the first time they have assisted Indiana either. They were used in the search that ended with Kelvin Sampson taking the job in Bloomington.
In 2013, Dana O’Neil of ESPN wrote about Parker’s expanding role in coaching searches. Currently, they are also involved in the Boston College coaching search.
