Brad Stevens is not coming to Indiana. Although many Indiana fans have high hopes of the former Butler man returning, Stevens has recently put those rumors to bed.
Stevens recently spoke with Adam Himmelsbach of the Boston Globe about the coaching interest.
“Nobody calls” Stevens said according to the Boston Globe. “The only thing people usually call me for is to ask questions about candidates. Everybody has a pretty good idea of where I stand, and I think ultimately I’m going to be here. I think that’s pretty well known.”
Stevens has noticed the speculation around his name being tied to certain NCAA jobs, but is very happy in New England.
“I think it’s all flattering, but it’s certainly flattering to ever be considered, because there aren’t that many jobs out there,” he said. “But at the same time, I’m really flattered to be here and thankful to be here.”
With Indiana already knocked out of the NIT, it is not surprising that the IU coaching drama reached a Brad Stevens press conference. However, he appears happy in Boston.
