Indiana University currently has five high school women’s basketball players committed to joining the program next fall. The most highly regarded of that group is Jaelynn Penn who just added another award to her name.

Penn was just named Gatorade Kentucky Girls Basketball Player of the Year.

Every year, Gatorade lables the best high school basketball players from each state, and now Penn will be joining the elite group.

Penn currently averages 14.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 2.2 steals per game in her senior season at Butler High School.

Last year, Penn was named the MVP of the Kentucky state championship tournament, and now she is looking to repeat with that honor again this year.

According to ESPN, Penn is a 5-star recruit and the 39th best player in the country.

With her talents coming to Bloomington in the Fall, Indiana could soon be making major progress as a program. With Penn playing alongside Tyra Buss and Amanda Cahill, the Hoosiers could be one of the more dominant teams in the Big Ten.
