Following their 20-10 (10-6) campaign, the Indiana Women’s basketball team failed to make the NCAA Tournament. This comes after making the tournament last season for the fifth time in program history.
The Hoosiers were widely known to be on the bubble prior to the release of the tournament, and the Hoosiers probably lost out on an opportunity because of the weak year for the Big Ten.
Out of the Big Ten, four teams made the tournament. This includes Maryland, Ohio State, Michigan State, and Purdue. Purdue seemed to slide into the tournament late after defeating Indiana and Ohio State in the Big Ten Tournament a week ago. Purdue was labeled as one of the last four teams to make the NCAA Tournament.
Now this Indiana team seems bound to compete in the WNIT. WNIT teams will be announced at 9p.m. and their seeds will be revealed at 11:30p.m.
The Hoosiers are expected to host a game at Assembly Hall, unlike the Men’s team.
In a radio interview today, AD Fred Glass alluded to being open to hosting a women's game this week. Expect Hoosiers to host WNIT. #iuwbb https://t.co/e3zjgvbDLu
