This past Monday, former IU running back Devine Redding joined “The Tall Trio” on WIUX. Redding discussed his potential in the NFL and his legacy at Indiana University.
Devine Redding began the interview by discussing what he can offer an NFL franchise.
Redding described himself as an explosive multipurpose back with great hands and a low center of gravity. He then went on to discuss how only having one offer out of high school allowed him to play with a chip on his shoulder.
From there, Devine established that he left school with a year of eligibility available because he feels he can get better on the higher level of the NFL.
Devine also established that he wouldn’t be where he is today if it wasn’t for the coaching at Indiana University.
Devine said that Coach McCullough knows what players need. He refereed to him as a versatile coach that knows how to talk to each individual player in a different fashion.
Devine also said that Coach Kevin Wilson knew how to push players and get the most out of them.
When asked about Kevin Wilson making the jump to Ohio State, Devine seemed to be at a loss for words when it happened.
“I could believe it, but I kinda can’t,” said Redding.
After discussing his coaches, Redding went on to reveal that he had actually never missed a practice in his entire career. Devine chose to spend a lot of time taking care of himself, doing what he called “pre-hab.”
Devine also had another made major revelation during the interview.
“To be honest, I just really love cookies,” said Redding.
For some reason, that wasn’t very surprising.
From there Redding went on to discuss the potential of Camion Patrick, his love for Dragon Ball Z, and his future NFL career.
You can hear the full interview below. “The Tall Trio” plan to have a similar interview with Ralph Green III tonight at 6:45pm on WIUX 99.1FM or at wiux.org/stream.
