Deland McCullough’s eye for running back talent should be well-known in Bloomington and throughout Indiana — heck, all of college football by now. He’s hoping he’s found another gem in Miami area running back Craig Nelson.
Nelson only held one offer — from Idaho — per just a few weeks ago on his 247Sports page. But the smaller, quick back brings Florida-like speed to Indiana’s backfield. He quickly accepted McCullough and Indiana’s offer a handful of days after the Hoosiers’ coaching staff extended, calling it an opportunity he had to jump on.

HOW HE STACKS UP
Nelson is a 3-star in the 247Composite, rating at a 79 — but is unranked by the service themselves.
WHAT IT MEANS
Nelson was Indiana’s only running back commitment heading into National Signing Day for the class, giving much needed depth at the position.
