Indiana’s offense was potent in the Wake Forest loss — but Kevin Wilson’s well-hyped rushing attack stagnated without its maulers up front.
All-American guard Dan Feeney’s concussion against Ball State kept him out of the lineup Saturday, and fellow senior right tackle Dimitric Camiel joined him on the shelf with back problems. During his Monday press conference, Wilson played his usual coy self with injury information — but noted the two are still questionable to see action on Saturday night against Michigan State.
Camiel’s injury wasn’t known before gametime on Saturday against Wake Forest, but Wilson praised Brandon Knight’s play kicking over from splitting time at left tackle with Coy Cronk in Camiel’s absence.
As for Feeney, there’s indications he’s making progress. Wilson noted that Feeney underwent physical activity on Sunday and more exercised-based work with doctors on Monday. Indiana’s been properly conservative with concussions, but it seems he’s making progress.
“It's just a matter of does he have headache issues and when that's clear, I think our doctors will give him the clear,” Wilson said. “So they're just pushing him through work and after work, if he's feeling good consistently, he's going to get to go.”
Jacob Bailey and Simon Stepaniak split time in filling in for Feeney at right guard against Michigan State.
