You know Indiana football’s making strides as a program under Kevin Wilson. Those strides are starting to pay off on the recruiting trail.
Scout.com confirmed this morning that longtime four-star LSU commit Patrick Queen is at least exploring his options and will take official visits to a couple of other schools. One of those schools is Ole Miss, a re-emergent recruiting power in the SEC and a name that should shock no one. Another is Nebraska, which is still Nebraska. The other school is Indiana. Yes, really.

Queen’s listed by most services as an athlete in the 2017 class, but he’s played running back and strong safety at Livonia High. Some services, like 247Sports, have Queen listed as primarily as a running back. This is sheer speculation, but if his desire is to carry the football in college — that might explain Indiana’s involvement. Demand McCullough’s NFL running back/1,000 yard season factory paired with Greg Frey’s offensive line and the promise of early playing time gives Indiana a unique, intriguing sell to big time, blue-chip backs.
Oh, and his lead recruiter at LSU? None other than Cam Cameron.
Here’s a few of Queen’s highlights from the 2016 season so far in Louisiana.
