Olympic gold is coming home to Bloomington.
After a few days of verbal sparring back and forth with her doped-up Russian opponent Yulia Efimova, Lilly King turned in the performance of a lifetime to take home Olympic gold in the 100 meter breaststroke.
King started fast off the block, pulling ahead by a half body length early, before falling off the pace in the 3rd 25 meters. But a brilliant closing search allowed her to pull ahead and set a new Olympic record in the event.
We'll update with video as soon as available.
For now, how you feelin, Lilly?
