When Jordan Howard's injury prematurely ended his season early against Maryland, Devine Redding stepped in as the Hoosier's lead back and never let up off the gas, doubling his rushing yard total through the season's first 10 games in the last three contests against Maryland, Purdue, and a 227 yard outburst in the Pinstripe Bowl against Duke that gave him a thousand-yard season.
He also made one of the most important plays in Indiana history, in any sport, a hurdle so savagely dismissive of a program's existence that there is a rumor Purdue may be shuttering their football team altogether:
Redding becomes the program's third Doak Walker Watch List nominee in three years for Indiana University, who have seen the previous two (Tevin Coleman and Jordan Howard) head to the NFL the following year.
