For the fourth time in five years, the Indiana Hoosiers are going dancing.
The outright Big Ten champs have received a 5-seed in the NCAA Tournament, where they'll face 12-seed Chattanooga in the first round in Des Moines at 7:10 pm on CBS Thursday night. If they win their first two games, including a potential second round matchup against Kentucky, they'll head to Philly for the second weekend of the tournament.
Indiana overcame a rough start to the season, including two losses in Maui that likely had an effect on the Hoosiers' strength of schedule and placement in the bracket. Around the new year, IU also lost James Blackmon, Jr. to a season-edning injury. However, IU turned its season around during conference play, in which they went 15-3 in the Big Ten and won the conference title outright, including victories in their final five games. Unfortunately, the Hoosiers lost on a last second three-pointer in the Big Ten Tournament against Michigan, continuing Indiana's uneven play in the conference tourney. Several Hoosiers such as Robert Johnson, Juwan Morgan, as well as Collin Hartman, have been banged up in recent weeks as well.
We'll have much more as the field of 68 gets set.
