According to a press release from the team, the Brooklyn Nets have waived guard Yogi Ferrell, who you probably know better as Indiana Hoosier Yogi Ferrell. Yogi signed with the Nets about a month ago after they were plagued with a series of injuries, after going undrafted and playing for Brooklyn’s Summer League team.
After joining the Nets, Yogi played reasonably well – he appeared in ten contests, averaging 5.4 points and 1.7 assists in 15.1 minutes per game. He also got some pretty good reviews, leading one to believe that one way or the other this probably won’t be the end of Yogi’s NBA journey.
Since he was waived, Yogi can sign a deal with any other NBA team, but if that doesn’t come to pass he will go to Brooklyn’s NBA D-League team, which in case you were wondering is called the Long Island Nets. Hopefully it’s not too long before Yogi finds himself back in the Association.
