Tremont Waters commits to Georgetown

Georgetown capitalized on late momentum and secured a commitment from the four-star 2017 PG.

The top remaining PG on Indiana's recruiting board for 2017 is now off the table. The 5'10", 160 lb PG out of New Haven, Connecticut made the call today, choosing Georgetown over the likes of Indiana, Kentucky, and Kansas.

As recently as yesterday, Waters had been highly favored by recruiting analysts to commit to Indiana, but a late surge of momentum allowed John Thompson III and Georgetown to swoop in for the talented prospect. Waters had previously taken official visits to all of his finalists, but the writing may have been on the wall once he took another unofficial visit to Georgetown last weekend.

While this is definitely a blow to IU's 2017 class, the Hoosiers still have plenty of prospects in play, including 5-stars Kris Wilkes and Billy Preston, to add to their already-solid core of Al Durham, Justin Smith, and Clifton Moore.
