Indiana at Minnesota GAMETHREAD

Tom Crean vs. a Pitino. No, not that Pitino.

Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

The last time Minnesota played Indiana, the game had a strange Sunday night start time in Assembly Hall on a snowy night in mid-February. I remember the game well because IU won by 19 and broke the school record for three-pointers made in a single game. That was also the night that this site's second-most famous* hashtag, #THREESWISHMAFIA, was born.

With JBJ out and the game on the road, the magic of that might probably won't happen again. Then again, Minnesota is bad this year. Like, 199th in KenPom bad. Morehead State and IPFW are ranked ahead of them and the Hoosiers wiped the floor with both of them. But this game's in The Barn, which has been a house of horrors for past IU teams. In fact, Bob Knight's 1994 team that eventually made the Sweet 16 lost at Minnesota by 50 points! So despite Minnesota's 6-11 record and lack of B1G wins thus far, the game's in Minneapolis, and like Champaign or Madison, it's never a safe bet for a conference road game.

Okay, here's what you need to know:

Who? Indiana Hoosiers (14-3 (4-0), #25 KenPom) vs. Minnesota Golden Gophers (6-11 (0-5), #197 KenPom)

When? Saturday, January 16th, 12:30 PM, BTN

Vegas? Indiana -10, over/under 152

Pomeroy? INDIANA by 10, 83% chance of Indiana victory

Here's the game preview, in which I wonder how good this 4-0 B1G start has been for IU and worry some more about playing in The Barn.

Oh, and IU added a new player last night! He's been a manager the past four years so he knows the team well.

And if you're not near a TV, here's Fisch:
