- News, notes, and any other tidbits that deal with Hoosier targets
- Rawle Alkins continues to impress everyone who watches him. After being named to the USA Select team, Alkins traveled to Treviso, Italy this weekend to play against some of the best international competition in the world. In a battle against a much older 20-U French team, he did not disappoint. In a hard-fought 74-71 win, Alkins led the team with 18 points on 7-8 shooting (2-2 from 3), including this.
Alkins kept up his strong play throughout the weekend, and in a huge 100-58 win over Greece on Monday, Alkins added to his highlight reel.

- Also on the USA Select team in Italy was 2016 target De'Ron Davis. Not wanting to be outdone, Davis had himself a memorable stat line as well. During a 77-68 victory over the Euro All-Stars, which consists of players who are ALL professional in leagues across Europe, Davis didn't miss a shot, finishing with 11 points and 9 rebounds on 5-5 shooting.
- 2016 PG De'Aaron Fox, recently ranked the #10 overall prospect in his class, recently sat down to talk about Indiana and where he stands in his recruitment.
"I know Thomas Bryant, one of their 2015 commits. I've talked to him at USA Basketball, and he played EYBL. We talk a lot.
"I've heard all great things about the program. A couple years ago, they had one of the Zeller brothers. Yogi Ferrell just came back. Victor Oladipo is in the league. They're putting out great players right now." Fox said he's got a good idea of what factors will be keys in his recruitment."Playing time, winning tradition and relationship with the coach," Fox said. "You're not going to really play if you don't have a good relationship with the coach.
"And playing style. I really want an up-and-down playing style with a team that can execute in the frontcourt." (Source)
- As the AAU season rolls along, a clearer picture of Indiana targets has begun to emerge. That picture includes Jeremiah Tilmon, a 6'10" big man from East St. Louis ranked #11 overall in the class of 2017. After receiving an offer from IU, Tilmon expressed interest in making a return visit to Bloomington, after having visited the campus as a freshman.
- Curtis Jones, who was a teammate of Thomas Bryant at Huntington Prep, continues to emerge as a legitimate prospect in his own right. The 6'4", 175 lb combo guard, ranked #54 overall in the class of 2016, has shown growth in his game, evidenced by a recent barrage of 3's in a 28-point performance for his Boo Williams AAU squad at an event in Minneapolis. Jones has many connections to the current IU squad, namely with Bryant and fellow Virginia native Rob Johnson.
- A bit late on this, but IU extended an offer to Markus Howard recently. Howard, a 5'11", 170 lb PG out of Findlay Prep in Nevada, is currently the #35 overall player in the 2017 class. Also, he has Indiana ties as his father, Chuck Martin, was a running back for the Hoosiers in the early 1980's.
- As always, keep up to date with our ever-changing recruiting board.
