Despite the chatter, we speculated last week that the tea leaves might be turning Thon Maker away from the professional game internationally. Today, there was confirmation:
World F-C Thon Maker told Yahoo at Hoop Summit practice he will not play pro overseas & will either go to a 5th year prep school or college.

If it's between prep school and college, it is probably safe to assume Maker will be heading to college if his academics are in order. It'd give Maker valuable exposure -- both to scouts and fans -- to raise his draft stock and marketing potential in 2016. Indiana and Kentucky have been considered the leaders for the 7-foot Canadian phenom's services, along with Kansas, and much has been made about Maker's preference to play for an "Adidas" school.
But there's another side of the coin for Indiana to land Maker. The Hoosiers are oversigned for 2015-16 with the addition of Thomas Bryant, and Maker's addition would require additional attrition for the roster numbers to work out.
