Report: Indiana RB Jordan Howard 'expected to' declare for 2016 NFL Draft

The UAB transfer lost a good deal of the season to injury -- and still ran for over 1100 yards in 2015.

Breaking news out of Bloomington today -- that's somewhat of a surprise. Jordan Howard is expected to enter the 2016 NFL Draft, per Erik Galko of OptimumScouting.com

There's been no confirmation on this from any other sources -- so keep that in mind for now. Howard ran for 1,213 yards in 2015, despite missing 3 full games, most of the Ohio State contest, and not being fully healthy for others. It's worth noting that Galko's tweet is wrong -- that 238 yard game came against Michigan, not Michigan State.

UPDATE, 4:14 pm EST

From the guy reporting the news, Galko wants to emphasize that Howard has not yet signed with an agent and is only 'expected to sign.

That's much different from declaring formally or signing -- Howard could still very well be back at Indiana next season. But Galko says that's unlikely from his source, who given this business, is likely an agent that thinks he can ink the Indiana back.

CBS Sports NFL Draft site doesn't even list Howard among the Top 75 Running Backs that could be available in this 2016 NFL Draft. This is also a good time to remind you that online 'draftniks' make an unbelievable amount of garbage up about dude's they've never seen play before.
