Crossroads Classic Gamethread: Indiana vs. Notre Dame

As always, the Crossroads Classic pits Indiana's four most storied basketball programs in Bankers Life Fieldhouse for a one-day event. This year, Indiana will take on Notre Dame in the Classic.

So far, the nonconference portion of the Hoosiers' season has been lackluster at best, and many fans, including myself, have felt apathetic about the team. For me, the apathy surrounding IU basketball thus far goes beyond the bad scheduling and uninspired play. Instead, it's because all offseason, we were sold on the fact that the Hoosiers were a superior product than they have looked so far. The Hoosiers blew a huge chance to make a statement in Maui, came out flat on the road against Duke, and while the defense is better than it was at this point last season, there's been no indication that it will hold up against better competition. The preseason hype has left me feeling like a sucker about the abilities of this team.

Thus, a neutral site win over Notre Dame today would be a step in the right direction, as Indiana prepares to start Big Ten play in less than two weeks. If the Hoosiers can't hold on, that hot seat for Tom Crean could be on fire.
