Four-star 2016 F Mario Kegler chooses Mississippi State over IU, Maryland

The writing has been on the wall for a while, but Ben Howland continues to get it done as he picks up another top recruit.

Annnnd another one bites the dust.

Just like that, Mario Kegler, the 4-star F out of Jackson, MS, becomes the 5th member of Ben Howland's seemingly-out-of-nowhere top recruiting class. Ranked #32 overall in the class of 2016, Kegler has enjoyed a steady ride to the top of most recruiting boards over the past year, and ultimately chose the Bulldogs over the likes of IU and Maryland, who rounded out his top 3.

Currently playing for Oak Hill, Kegler will look to hone his skills as he enters 2016 as part of a top-5 recruiting class (and possibly higher). He will be joined by fellow 4-star recruits C Schnider Herard, SG Tyson Carter, and PG Lamar Peters, as well as 3-star SG Eli Wright.

Whatever Ben Howland's pitch is, it's working. He's not done yet, though, as fellow IU target De'Ron Davis announces his college decision tomorrow. Davis is deciding between Indiana and Mississippi State.
