That is not just a catchy headline, but what I hope to bring to the team here at SB Nation's Crimson Quarry.
Before I go any further, allow me to introduce myself, my name is Lloyd Ribner and I am excited to be the newest member of Crimson Quarry. Some of you may know me from my time as a founder over at Hoosier Huddle, others from my work as the co-host of The B1G Show, while I assume most of you have no clue who the heck I am! I hope to change that over the coming days, weeks and months. My mission as I come on board is to fill the roll of Senior Recruiting Director for the foreseeable future.
While I am not in the photo above, my excitement writing my first piece here mirrors that of running out of the tunnel for the first time to kickoff a new season. Alright, who am I kidding, I highly doubt anything can be quite as awesome as strapping on those shoulder pads, putting on your helmet, and knowing you're a Big Ten football player about to kick it off under the lights. But I digress...
I am very proud of both the work I have done in my past, as well as the people I have done it with. While I loved my time at Hoosier Huddle, it was time for me to take the next step. When this opportunity with SB Nation and Crimson Quarry presented itself, I had to take it. In addition I will continue my work on The B1G Show, which I co-host with my good friend Daniel Mogollon. We have had some incredible success in our young venture, with amazing guests such as Dari Nowkhah, Desmond Howard, Barry Alvarez and many others from around the world of college football.
The plan is to spend much time on the recruiting aspect of things. However, I am truly passionate about all things surrounding college sports as the pageantry, passion, and tradition ooze from its pores. I plan to not just bring you the same old boring previews and game summaries copy and pasted each and every week. Instead I want to provide in-depth recruiting breakdowns, interviews, rankings and more all for the low low price of, wait for it, Zero Dollars!!!
Yes, I know what your thinking...if this guy is talking about recruiting it can't actually be free. Maybe the first paragraph is free until I have to fork over $100 or so of my hard earned Midwestern dollars to actually get any of the information that was promised to me when I clicked on the link to said article.
Nope, not here, not with me. There will be no bait and switch. However, there will be a ton of Hoosier football talk, realistic viewpoints, food discussions, actual interaction between reader and writer, embedded family guy clips and awful analogies.
Make sure you go and follow my new twitter account (@LloydRibner), and we can get started discussing everything from recruiting to early morning tailgating, the current temperature of Coach Wilson's seat to burrito bowl ingredients.
