After three pretty crazy days and everyone's brackets being pretty well wrecked, we have one more day of play before we get a nice long 3 day break and start the madness all over again. I'm actually feeling pretty good about my own bracket personally. Outside of Duke crapping the bed, every one of my Elite Eight teams is still intact. If I can get out of this weekend will the possibility of having 7 of 8 EE teams, I'm happy.
As for other people who are happy, the Big Ten should still feel pretty good about themselves. Three teams in the Sweet Sixteen is pretty solid. We've been saying all year that there is a definitive gap between the top of the conference and everyone else. Wisconsin, Michigan and Michigan State have pretty well proven us right. They've handled all their adversity quite well. Wisconsin even mustered a 16 point comeback to move on. Everyone else has looked over matched, as they've seen their way out of their tournament. Hopefully the Big Ten can still represent. It would be nice to put 3 teams into the Elite Eight or better in a year where everyone considered the conference as being down.
That being said we still have a slate of games today. Go Wichita State obviously and who cares about the rest of the results. Maybe we should be pulling for our boy Steve Alford and UCLA as well? I've struggled with that one this year. I like Alford and I hate UCLA. Just absolutely torn on how to treat those games. But, I guess we should cheer on our savior of the 80s in the end. So go University of California - Los Angeles Steve Alfords.
