Redshirt Freshman Isaac Griffith has been reported to be in a medically induced coma after an accident while on spring break with friends. The Fort Wayne Homestead High School Twitter account originally announced the news that he was in critical condition on Monday evening. Since then information has been trickling in about his condition as the hours wear on.
According to Griffith's family, there was an accident involving a rip tide that nearly drown Griffith. Griffith's father Shannon Griffith has updated Hoosiers Nation somewhat on his son's status as they were boarding a plane to Sarasota to be down there with their son during his recovery. According to Griffith, "His condition is stable but still critical at this point in a medically induced coma to allow his lungs to heal. Other vitals are positive at this time. We ask for your thoughts and prayers."
Isaac was one of the first commits to the landmark 2013 class and had a major role in helping recruit the rest of the Indiana kids that made up such a strong class. He redshirted this past season due to the depth at WR but was expected to make some noise on the gridiron this year in filling the shoes of several departures. He finished his high school career in 2013 with school records in receptions, yards and touchdowns.
