Over the last month Indiana head coach Kevin Wilson and staff have really been on a recruiting tear receiving the verbal commitment of numerous prospects on both sides of the ball including, Illinois running back Tommy Mister, Ohio linebacker Tegray Scales and down south defensive backs Waynedriko Smith, Zeke Walker and Tony Fields.
Their hard work on the trail has once again paid off, as class of 2014 athlete Will Dawkins has decided to give Wilson and company his pledge after officially visiting Bloomington over the weekend.
During the recruiting process, Dawkins, a 5-11 195 pound, three star recruit out of Vero Beach, Florida also held scholarship offers from Bowling Green, Florida Atlantic, North Carolina State, Michigan State, Louisville, Ohio State, Georgia Tech, Rutgers, South Carolina and a long list of other quality programs before finally deciding on IU.
Dawkins who will likely play defensive back for the Hoosiers, did most of his damage at the prep level on offense as a wide receiver. Last season at Vero Beach High, he caught 39 passes for 570 yards and five touchdowns, helping the Indians to an overall record of 10-2, earning Class 8A Honorable Mention All-Florida for his efforts.
