Indiana vs. Purdue: Full Homersota Rivalry Preview

Full Homersota (adj): The act of completely favoring your team, regardless of prior performance or even logic. Coined by GoAUpher of Off-Tackle Empire.

Joe Robbins

The place: Mackey Arena, West Lafayette (*spits), Indiana, USA

The teams: The "Not the Name of the State, thus not THE state university" University Fail Train (aka the Purdue Boilermakers) and your Indiana Hoosiers!

What's at stake: For both teams, state pride, and a glimmer of hope that the season won't end nearly as terribly as it looks right now.

What does Vegas say: Opened Purdue -2.5, is down to -1 or pick'em.

What does Pete say: Well, he was around here a second ago....

The current mood of IU fans right now, judging solely by the iubb hashtag: "We'd better beat Purdue. Also, WHY HANNER WHY?!?!?!?!?!?!"

How important this game is on a scale of 1-10, where 1 is an exhibition game and 10 in the National Championship: 9.95, just because. You can't prove me wrong.

Over/under number of nets Coach Crean cuts down if we win this game: [ERROR: Input number too high]

My completely biased, barely researched analysis: It's Indiana. At Purdue. Both teams suck, but someone has to win. And Vegas opened this at basically even on a neutral court. So, as usual, it's gonna come down to how well we do on offense. Not sure if Hanner being suspended for this game stretches or shortens the rotation, and if I'm honest, I bet Crean doesn't know right now either. Please let us win at Purdue. Please.

Reasonable score prediction: Indiana 74, Purdue 72
