Juwan Morgan Signs NLI

Morgan, a Rivals.com 4-star for 2015 is a 6-8, 220 pound forward from Waynesville, a small town in south-central Missouri. He joins OG Anunoby as the second member of the Hoosiers 2015 recruiting class.

Waynesville Sr. HS forward Juwan Morgan became the 2nd official member of IU’s 2015 recruiting class today, as he signed his National Letter of Intent to play for the Hoosiers next year.

Morgan, a 6’9", 220 lb. junior, enjoyed a strong season last year in which he averaged 19 PPG and 10 RPG. Then, after a fantastic AAU season and being recognized as the Most Improved Player at Nike’s Elite Youth Basketball League, Morgan’s stock really began to rise.

As the 89th overall player in the 247Composite rankings, Morgan will be expected to step in and have a role right away in the IU frontcourt. "Indiana has a lot of question marks at the power forward and center positions in terms of who plays where and what kind of production they will get, so Morgan helps in that way," said Brian Snow, a basketball recruiting analyst for Scout.com.

Morgan ultimately picked IU for not only its pedigree, but its player development as well. "Getting stronger, getting faster, things like that will be important to me," he said. While he will primarily be used as a power forward, expect Morgan to try and add range to his game, as he looks to expand his overall skill set.
