Tom Crean at B1G Media Day

Couldn't tune in for B1G Media Day? Here's a quick tweetcap regarding what was said about / relating to the Hoosiers.

Pat Lovell-USA TODAY Sports

Every coach is being forced to the podium to answer questions about their programs and their offseasons up in Chicago today, here's what Crean said:

First, super-important PRESEASON AWARDS:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-partner="tweetdeck"><p>Wisconsin is unanimous preseason Big Ten favorite. Frank Kaminsky unanimous preseason player of the year.</p>&mdash; Mike Miller (@MikeMillerHT) <a href="https://twitter.com/MikeMillerHT/status/522732207639904256">October 16, 2014</a></blockquote>

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-partner="tweetdeck"><p>Kaminsky was unanimous POY too. Crean at the podium:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-partner="tweetdeck"><p>Tom Crean said Indiana&#39;s goal is to be tenacious, be on the attack, be fundamentally driven. <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/iubb?src=hash">#iubb</a></p>&mdash; Jeff Rabjohns (@JeffRabjohns) <a href="https://twitter.com/JeffRabjohns/status/522736556030058496">October 16, 2014</a></blockquote>

<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-partner="tweetdeck"><p>Crean acknowledges that Indiana had to ask Yogi Ferrell to do a little too much last season. <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/iubb?src=hash">#iubb</a></p>&mdash; Alex McCarthy (@akmccarthy) <a href="https://twitter.com/akmccarthy/status/522736923493027841">October 16, 2014</a></blockquote>

<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-partner="tweetdeck"><p>In what will have to be today’s largest understatement: Crean says he’s &quot;hoping for the emergence of Hanner Perea.” <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/iubb?src=hash">#iubb</a></p>&mdash; The Crimson Quarry (@crimsonquarry) <a href="https://twitter.com/crimsonquarry/status/522737235481731072">October 16, 2014</a></blockquote>

<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-partner="tweetdeck"><p>&quot;Consistency is...well that&#39;s the word.&quot; Crean on Hanner Perea. &quot;Our goal is to get him to be able to guard anyone on the court.&quot; <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/iubb?src=hash">#iubb</a></p>&mdash; BT Powerhouse (@BTpowerhouse) <a href="https://twitter.com/BTpowerhouse/status/522737387819270145">October 16, 2014</a></blockquote>

<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Crean spoke at length, or as much length as possible in an 8-minute press conference, about the emergency of Hanner Perea. It's no secret, to him or anyone else, that Hanner's play is going to go a long way in determining what kind of season the Hoosiers end up having. I don't think it's outlandish to suggest that if he plays at a high level, the enormous talent the Hoosiers possess on the wings and in the backcourt will propel Indiana into the upper half of the conference, easily. Should he struggle with inconsistency and fouls as he has in his previous two seasons, it becomes difficult to see Indiana holding up down low consistently enough to compete with the top half of the Big Ten.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-partner="tweetdeck"><p>Crean on Blackmon: &quot;A year ago this time, he might&#39;ve been abel to do 185 pounds once. Did it 7 times when he got here, 13 times last week.&quot;</p>&mdash; Mike Miller (@MikeMillerHT) <a href="https://twitter.com/MikeMillerHT/status/522738013944958976">October 16, 2014</a></blockquote>

<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-partner="tweetdeck"><p>Crean: &quot;I think he&#39;s gonna be really, really fun to coach. He certainly has to this point.&quot;</p>&mdash; Mike Miller (@MikeMillerHT) <a href="https://twitter.com/MikeMillerHT/status/522738100167270400">October 16, 2014</a></blockquote>

<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

He raved about the work ethic of James Blackmon Jr. and Rob Johnson, and it's always refreshing to see highly-ranked guys come into the program and work even harder than they did before. Blackmon was probably good enough as a senior in high school to step into a B1G game and compete right away, so it's great to see him working hard to get even better. It's not the only thing that wins basketball games, but I like that these guys are serious about their workouts. Building up strength and explosion is never, ever a bad thing.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-partner="tweetdeck"><p>Crean has new slicked back hair thing happening. Not sure whether it is a new style or whether he got a late start. <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/iubb?src=hash">#iubb</a></p>&mdash; Kent Sterling (@KentSterling) <a href="https://twitter.com/KentSterling/status/522738193100443648">October 16, 2014</a></blockquote>

Everyone knows you can change your sports fortune by manipulating your hair. Crean is a smart guy.

This will be updated throughout the day. Crean, Yogi Ferrell, and Nick Zeisloft will be available starting at 11.
