Pinson Decision Set For Wednesday

Highly coveted North Carolina recruit will decide between 5 schools.

USA TODAY Sports

Theo Pinson will announce his college decision this Wednesday at 12:15 pm. According to this Sporting News article, his final five are Duke, Georgetown, Louisville, IU, and North Carolina. In case you aren't aware, Tom Crean and his staff have been recruiting Pinson hard for awhile now. He is a five star recruit on all 3 major recruiting networks: ESPN, Rivals, and Scout. Basically, the kid is a consensus top 15 recruit, and would be another piece in my coveted 2014 class (Blackmon, Pinson, Exum, and Okonoboh).

I'm feeling pretty good about Theo's decision. The popular opinion among the national media seems to be that he will end up right here in Bloomington. Jerry Meyer, national recruiting analyst for 247 Sports, tweeted this a couple hours ago: "Crystal Ball is still 100 percent Indiana for Theo Pinson. Now it is 16 out of 16." He also tweeted that IU had been recruiting Pinson the hardest of any school. Don't forget that Theo told Inside The Hall in this article that Indiana is "looking good right now". His decision is coming surprisingly quickly; when I originally heard about his decision date, I was surprised, but I also thought that this was great news for the Hoosiers given recent recruiting efforts and the above quote. Could the success of Cody Zeller and Victor Oladipo at the NBA Draft Combine have cemented his decision? We'll find out Wednesday.

Finally, here's a YouTube video showcasing some of Theo's finer moments on the hardwood.
