2013 Indiana All-Stars: future Hoosiers Davis, Hartman, and Latham make the cut.

Three Indiana All-Stars will be playing for IU next year, but it's not clear whether all three will be playing basketball.

USA TODAY Sports

The Indiana All-Star team roster was announced yesterday, and as expected two of IU's basketball recruits made the cut, as did a football player who may walk on to the basketball team. Devin Davis of Warren Central, Collin Hartman of Indianapolis Cathedral, and Darius Latham of North Central all will participate in what hopefully is an other sweep of the boys form Kentucky. Hartman is a 6-6 shooting guard who is an unranked three star recruit per Rivals. Davis is a 6-06 forward ranked #121 by Rivals. Latham is a 6-5, 291 pound defensive tackle who is a four star recruit (Rivals, again) and is ranked #7 in his class in Indiana. He originally committed to Wisconsin, but flipped before signing day. According to this recent article by Pete DiPrimio, both Tom Crean and Kevin Wilson are at least leaving open the possibility that Latham could walk on to the basketball team. In the past, that hasn't necessarily happened, as the likes of Antwaan Randle El and James Hardy eventually gave up basketball. Still, it has happened before (Charlie Ward and Florida State, Julius Peppers at North Carolina), so stranger things have happened. The best news, of course, would be if Latham is unable to even consider basketball until early January.
