For the second consecutive week, the Indiana Hoosiers are at the top of both major polls. In the AP Poll, the Hoosiers received 64 of 65 first place voted (Gonzaga received the other). In the USA Today/ESPN Coaches' Poll, IU received 28 of 31 first place votes (Gonzaga received three first place votes). It's surprising that Gonzaga and IU, despite not playing in the same conference, have two losses in common. Gonzaga's only two losses are to Butler and to Illinois, while IU has lost to Butler, Illinois, and Wisconsin.
In other news, Victor Oladipo was named Big Ten player of the week for the second time this season. I would be interested to know how rare it is for a player to win BTPOW in a week in which his team plays only one game, but that's just how impressive his play was in East Lansing.
