With the season over, IU head football coach Kevin Wilson and his gang of assistants have turned their attention to recruiting, spreading out to multiple states yesterday in search of future Hoosiers. One of the stops Co-offensive coordinator Kevin Johns made was to Paul VI in New Jersey to check in on class of 2015 prospect Irvin Charles, who received his full ride scholarship to join the IU family.

"My guidance counselor told me (about the offer) once they left. It feels good." The four star wide receiver told The Crimson Quarry Tuesday evening when asked how the offer came about. " He (coach Johns) couldn't really say a lot to me. He just said how much they like me and said I have exactly what they are looking for." Charles added.

After racking up over 150 receiving yards and scoring three touchdowns in a 42-28 Paul VI victory over rival Camden Catholic last week, Eagles head coach John Doherty told the Courier Post the following on his standout player: "He's special. He's the total package, great hands, quickness and he blocks. Any football coach would love to have an athlete like that."

That certainly seems to be the case as the Hooisers join programs such as Boston College, Ole Miss, Rutgers and Temple in offering Charles. With coaches from multiple BCS conference teams keeping a close eye on the 6-4 212 pound play maker, it certainly won't be the last to give Irvin the chance to suit up on the college level.

Coaches aren't the only ones holding Charles in high regards. According to the 247Sports rankings, Irvin is the 158th player and 16th wide out in the entire 2015 recruiting class. Scout.com currently lists him as the 40th wide out in the country.
